Randy and Evi Quaid's particular brand of crazy is truly the gift that just keeps on giving.

The duo was arrested in Vancouver Wednesday when they tried to make a run for the border to the north, only to have their identities (and lengthy rap sheets, complete with outstanding arrest warrants) caught out.

That's one of the down sides of having such an infamous mug shot: easy recognition. Here's what went down:

It's unclear if the duo had the foresight to at least try and pass through customs with different names, but regardless, Vancouver police were called for assistance by border agents when a quick search through the record books indicated that the couple was wanted in the U.S. after failing to show for their last court hearing to answer to charges of squatting.

The duo was turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency, and are due to appear at a detention-review hearing before the Immigration and Refugee Board this afternoon.

Funny, you'd think after (allegedly) committing so many crimes, they'd at least have a better success rate.
