Germany's beloved "Love Parade" music festival has ended in chaos and tragedy.
The world-famous gathering, known for its dance-filled celebrations and odes to techno, turned deadly Saturday when 18 people were crushed to death during a stampede.
While details are scarce regarding what exactly caused the deadly dash to a tunnel at the event, it is believed attendees rushed there when police told them that a portion of the festival grounds had been closed off due to overcrowding, according to the New York Times.
Reports indicated that of the million plus people who turned out for the event held in Berlin, 200 people were injured.
