The New York Post reports that Mariska Hargitay has purchased an 11,000-square-foot, 11-bedroom home with husband Peter Hermann. The 3-story property sits on a private estate just across town from Hargitay's previous four-bedroom Hamptons residence.

"I have a whole other life I get to enjoy when we go," the 46-year-old actress recently told Hamptons Magazine of her love for the area. "For me it's my oasis."

The Law & Order: SVU actress, who won an Emmy in 2006 for her role as Detective Olivia Benson, is no stranger to the New York real estate market.

In 2008, she sold an eight-room, 4,900-square-foot penthouse in New York's Chelsea neighborhood for an impressive $8.15 million only one year after purchasing it for a cool $7 million.

Previous to that, Hargitay owned million dollar high rise properties in Tribeca and Murray Hill, NYC.
