Sarah Palin's almost son-in-law/Playgirl coverboy is rejecting assertions by her 19-year-old daughter, Bristol, that he earned $105,000 in 2009 and should have his child support payments cranked up.
"We are refuting the manner in which they want child support figured," Johnston's attorney, Rex Butler, tells E! News.
Bristol wants Levi to fork over $1,750 a month to care for their 1-year-old son, Tripp, but in a new court filing, Butler characterizes Levi's income as "erratic," noting that before 2009 he was lucky to pull in $10,000 annually. His only guaranteed income so far in 2010 is $25,000 coming from "some contingencies based on my Playgirl shoot." (On stands now!)
But Team Bristol ain't buying it.
Her attorney, Thomas Van Flein, has issued the following statement: "Bristol is hopeful that Levi will obtain work in 2010." Ouch.
She is also "encouraged that he acknowledged in court his obligation to pay child support and that he acknowledged paying $4,400 in the last 14 months," the lawyer continued.
"Bristol expects to mediate a child visitation schedule with Levi that balances Tripp's need to be with his father with Levi's need to travel and seek work."
Butler fired back, telling E! News: "That's the nature of the [entertainment] business but at the same time we're willing to pay. They said they got $4,400 from him over a 14-month period but it was in the last three months. He'd have more to send over if she just keeps her appointments with him."
Hey, Levi, there's always that tell-all about the inner workings of a certain moose-averse vice presidential candidate. Royalties from that sucker would put Tripp through college...and therapy.
