So You Think You Can Dance's Cat Deeley deserves a spot among Ryan Seacrest, Jeff Probst and Heidi Klum as an Emmy nominee for Best Reality-Show Host. You've said it, we've said it to her and, apparently, she hears it all the time.
"That's the second time someone has said that to me, and I've only been here for about 20 minutes," the blond beauty told E! News at the G-Star Raw fashion show earlier this week. "But I'm going on Sunday!"
Sure enough, the leggy Brit is presenting on television's big night. And even though she's been on the Kodak Theatre stage before—SYTYCD's most recent finale was filmed there...
"I'm a little bit nervous about it though," she confessed.
"I've done it back in England, and I've hosted award shows back in England, but I've never actually done it before here. But I'm excited, you know? It's a really exciting thing to do."
We would have given her an ego boost, but her eyes widened when she added, "And the frocks!
"I'm having a whole plethora of dresses coming in," she said with the look of a kid in a candy store. "I know I've got Matthew Williamson and Christopher Bailey [of Burberry] sending me over things so far, but I'm sure there'll be more."
Opening an envelope on Emmy night isn't the only thing that gives Cat the jitters. Her show hot-stepping into fall has her mildly worried as well.
"I'm approaching it with a little trepidation," she admitted. "There's one part of me that is actually like, 'Oh goodness, it's really competitive, and we've just finished the last season, so is it too much too soon?' But then I turn around and I go, 'Well, Fox seems to have confidence in us, and the audience loves the show, so provided we keep doing what we're doing and do it bigger and better than ever before, we should be OK.' "
And so should she, both on Emmy night and beyond.
