Michael Douglas is getting ready to sing and kiss…Matt Damon.

Mr. Douglas told me he's going to try real hard to do his own singing in the upcoming Liberace movie, in which he stars as the late showman with Damon playing his real-life much younger lover.

"I got his books and I got his tapes," Douglas told me this morning at Michael Kors' Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show in NYC. "Right now, we're doing Wall Street 2 until the end of the year, so [the Liberace film] is scheduled for next summer."

As for duplicating Liberace's musical chops, Douglas revealed…

"It's exciting because I have the winter to work on it," he said. "I'm going to get somebody to help me out vocally. We're going to try to get the vocals and the moves down. It should be a lot of fun."

As for same-sex smooching, Damon better be prepared. "I just saw Matt up at the Toronto Film Festival and I was teasing him," he said. "I was saying, 'Bring a lot of ChapStick, babe.' "

Damon joked recently that Douglas would have to woo him a bit before they locked lips. "I'm not going to just show up on set and start kissing him," he said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly's Dave Karger. "He's going to have to buy me dinner."

As for the Wall Street sequel, Douglas said of working with Shia LaBeouf, "He's wonderful. He'll be really good in the picture."
