Sources confirm that Mr. Gosselin has been replaced by Kwanten, who plays Jason Stackhouse on HBO's hit vampire series, for a special celebrity appearance on Sunday at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City.
We're not exactly sure what the 32-year-old Kwanten is going to be doing during his time at the New Jersey hotel and casino...but does it really matter? He can just stand there and we'd be more than happy to stare at him.
TLC, the network responsible for Jon & Kate Plus 8, forced Gosselin, 32, to back out of the gig, according to celeb tabloid Life & Style. The magazine also reports that his estranged wife and mother of his children, Kate, 34, was likewise told to cancel an appearance at Harrah's tomorrow night. A rep for the network declined to comment.
But buyer beware: In a release touting its exclusive, Life & Style not only identified Kwanten by his TV name, but they described him as a "super-hot vampire." As any True Blood fan could tell ya, Jason is a mere mortal living among the bloodsuckers of Louisiana.
Even so, we do hope Kwanten's contract includes a poolside party without his shirt on.
