E! News can exclusively announce the Outstanding Daytime Talk Series nominations for the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards—and Kelly Clarkson's and Jennifer Hudson's shows are among those being recognized.
The Daytime Emmy Awards will be held on Friday, June 7 at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, where they will recognize the best in a variety of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, culinary and legal/courtroom programs.
And the nominees for the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards are:
Outstanding Daytime Talk Series
The Jennifer Hudson Show
The Kelly Clarkson Show
Tamron Hall
Turning The Tables with Robin Roberts
The View
From 2008 to 2022, the award was split into two categories—Informative Talk Show and Entertainment Talk Show—but as of 2023, they were merged into a single Daytime Talk Series category.
And as for who might take home the gold in 2024?
The Kelly Clarkson Show has been a big winner in the past, picking up the award in 2023, and winning Entertainment Talk Show in 2021 and 2022. And Kelly herself has a won Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host four years running, which certainly pairs well with her three Grammy trophies.
However, Turning The Tables with Robin Roberts is also a recent winner, nabbing the Informative Talk Show win in 2022.
While The Jennifer Hudson Show and Tamron Hall have both previously been nominated, neither has achieved wins the category.
As for perineal TV daytime classic The View, although the show has picked up 17 Outstanding Daytime Talk Series nominations during its 27-year run, it has only won the award twice: once in 2003 (tying with The Wayne Brady Show) and again in 2020, winning Informative Talk Show. Perhaps this will be the lucky year for Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
To find out who the big winners will be, tune into the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on June 7 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+.
(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
