What with yesterday's news that Dr. Conrad Murray could soon be on the receiving end of a wrongful-death lawsuit, Michael Jackson's embattled personal physician isn't exactly next in line for any Doctor of the Year awards. But he still has plenty of people he'd like to thank.
In a video posted on YouTube today by Houstoncriminallaw, an account set up by his legal team, Murray thanked "all of my patients and friends" who have sent him messages of support.
"Because of all that is going on, I am afraid to return phone calls or use my email," he explained. "Therefore, I recorded this video to let all of you know that I have been receiving your messages.
"Your messages give me strength and courage and keep me going. They mean the world to me."
And lest any of Murray's remaining allies fear for his future, the doctor did his best to set their minds at ease.
"Please, don't worry. As long as I keep god in my heart and you in my life, I will be fine. I have done all I can do. I told the truth. And I have faith the truth will prevail."
Meanwhile, reps for the Jackson family confirmed that the King of Pop would be laid to rest on Aug. 29, what would have been his 51st birthday, in the private, no-fans-allowed Grand Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and will be limited to family and close friends.
