Daisy Duke's Husband Dead of Apparent Suicide

Catherine Bach's husband, attorney Peter Lopez, found at home earlier Friday, according to LAPD

Tragedy has struck Dukes of Hazzard star Catherine Bach.

Police and paramedics swarmed the Encino, Calif., home of the original Daisy Duke after getting a 911 call about a possible shooting around 11:30 a.m.

"LAPD is on the scene," said department spokesman Lt. John Romero. "We're still in the early stages of the investigation, but what we gather is it's an apparent suicide."

The L.A. County Coroner's Office has since identified him as Bach's husband, Peter Lopez, a music attorney who once upon a time did legal work for Michael Jackson.

Bach's publicist, Steve Rohr, told E! News, "The Lopez family has suffered a tragic personal loss. Catherine and the girls ask for your prayers."

Bach, 56, and Lopez married in 1990 and have two children.

"We are deeply shocked and saddened by the unexpected loss of our friend and partner, Peter Lopez," read a statement issued by his firm, Kleinberg, Lopez, Lange, Cuddy & Klein LLP.

"This is an incalculable tragedy for his family, friends, clients and ourselves. We request that all concerned respect the privacy of Peter's family during this terribly difficult period. Our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers are with the Lopez family."
