Defense lawyers are opposing prosecutors' request in the war crimes trial against former Liberian President Charles Taylor that Naomi Campbell be called to testify as a witness. The defense lawyers call the move a "publicity stunt." Campbell is believed to have received "blood diamonds" from Taylor in 1997, and prosecutors want her subpoenaed to talk about it. Campbell has said that she does not want to get involved in the case because she is "concerned about her safety." I think the only people who need to be worried about their safety are the ones who are standing in front of Naomi Campbell when she's holding a phone.
