Although Gellar's buff, she just doesn't slay in this dippy, weightless froth as a restaurant chef whose cooking is imbued with magical powers. The object of her confections, Flanery, is about as wooden as a soup spoon--and it probably doesn't help that he looks like he was separated at birth from the Partridge Family's David Cassidy. Together, he and Gellar radiate about as much heat as the pilot light from her stove.
Add the fact that much of the magic seems to be orchestrated by an animatronic crab (who didn't receive screen credit), and you have a movie that's, well, limply resistible.
