What do you get when you mix Grant's Brit diffidence with the blowsy New Yawk delivery of Caan and a misfit mob of Mafia miscreants? Answer: an offer you can refuse. Grant, an auctioneer at an Upper East Side firm, loves Caan's only daughter (Tripplehorn). But she says "fuggehdabout" marriage, fearing their union would be ruined by the favors Grant might be asked to perform for "the family.
" Her prediction comes true...with predictable results. The movie itself is barely distinguishable from other recent mob flicks like Analyze This. (Craggy-faced Viterelli plays virtually the same role in both.) Elizabeth Hurley, Grant's real-life squeeze, exec-produced this dud.
