This may not be up to the edgy standards of Cage's best work (e.g., Leaving Las Vegas), but at least it's free from the mindless explosions and plane crashes that punctuated much of The Rock and Con Air. Cage plays a private detective hired to identify and locate the subject of an alleged snuff film. The job sends him into the darkest bowels of the porn industry, where he's confronted by scenes of seedy sex and horrific violence.
Along the way he discovers just what it takes to transform a good man into a monster. Fine entertainment if you've got a strong stomach.
