Last night, the 32-year-old Canadian songstress stepped out with the 42-year-old Israeli American producer, J.R. Rotem, whom she was first spotted with in August. The two showed the world they were going strong as they left the Nice Guy restaurant hand-in-hand in West Hollywood, Calif.
A source tells E! News, "They're seeing each other and it's going well. They're not putting a lot of pressure on it, right now they're seeing where it goes."
Rocking a black sweatshirt dress and knee-high boots, the singer was all smiles with her new man, who opted for a black pants, a black t-shirt layered over a long-sleeve white shirt and white athletic shoes.
Avril's life is certainly on the upswing since revealing two years ago that she was dealing with Lyme disease, a chronic condition left the "Complicated" singer bedridden for five months and sidelined her professional endeavors up until last December when she announced her sixth studio album. The source says, "In terms of her health, every day is different but she's feeling stronger. That's why you've been seeing her out more."
And for Avril's music fans we have good news on the album front and the love front. The insider said, "Avril's super focused on the new album. After being out of the spotlight for a while, it's really important to her. JR understands that— he's very supportive personally and professionally. He's from her world. He gets it."
And he should get it. J.R. is a chart-topping producer who has worked with Gwen Stefani, Ne-Yo, Timbaland, Rihanna, Charlie Puth, Panic! At the Disco and many, many more.
Back on Aug. 7, the pair was photographed holding hands while out and about in Los Angeles.
At the time, E! News reported that a source said things were moving toward a romantic relationship. Two months later that certainly seems like the case.
"J.R. is a producer she's been working with," the source said, describing the South African-born music man as successful. "He's respected in the industry. Lately, they've started hanging out socially and there's definitely chemistry there. They're both so passionate about music."
On Aug. 31, J.R. made it Instagram official when he took to social media to posted a sexy photo of his new lady with the caption, "Bae putting in that work."

Lavigne was last linked to Ryan Cabrera after the pair was spotted getting cozy on a dinner date and it was revealed that the singer-songwriter was living with her. Previously she was married to Chad Kroeger and Deryck Whibley.
