When the teaser trailer for Dunkirk was released in August, fans lamented the absence of Harry Styles, who makes his feature film debut in Christopher Nolan's WWII drama. Fans will be delighted to see Styles multiple times in Warner Bros.' full-length trailer, released Wednesday.

But will Styles' character survive? One scene shows him gasping for breath underwater, which sent fans into a frenzy on social media. Styles does not speak any dialogue in the trailer, either.

Nolan's drama follows young soldiers (including Styles and newcomer Fionn Whitehead) during the evacuation of Dunkirk. As German soldiers advanced across Europe in 1940, the Allies were pushed to the French coast. Thanks to the collective effort of the British, Belgian, and French forces—and a strategic blunder on Adolf Hitler's behalf—more than 330,000 soldiers got away.

Dunkirk, in theaters July 21, 2017, also stars Aneurin Barnard, Kenneth Branagh, James D'Arcy, Tom Glynn-Carney, Tom Hardy, Barry Keoghan, Jack Lowden, Cillian Murphy and Mark Rylance. As Styles revealed in AnOther Man's Autumn/Winter 2016 issue, it was a grueling shoot for all involved. "My first day on set was so cold," the British singer recalled. "There was sand in my eyes. It was intense. The movie is really ambitious. I feel lucky to be involved in it."

Styles added that he was excited to make his feature film debut under Nolan's guidance. "I'm a big fan of his movies; I'm kind of in awe of him. He has an amazing brain, the way he works stuff out," the singer said of the acclaimed director, whose last film was 2014's Interstellar. "He clearly does so much research. I guess that's why he doesn't just churn out a load of movies. It definitely takes some of the nerves away. You know if you do something wrong. He'll tell you."
