Don't flinch!

That was the goal Wednesday night on the set of The Late Late Show with James Corden. The British host gathered Jessica Alba, Ken Jeong and Kate Mara for a round of a terrifying game.

The objective was simply not to flinch while items were fired at them from a cannon. Fortunately, they were standing behind a plate of Plexiglas, so they were safe from taking a hit, but the suspense was high all the same.

Corden picked from a selection of fruits and vegetables as his firing object before loading them into a cannon with his face on the front. First up—the Dr. Ken star. Spoiler alert: he flinched.

After asking the actor three things that scared him, Corden fired an apple at Jeong before he could even answer and an expletive flew out of his mouth.

Next up was Alba, who knew exactly which item she wanted shot at her. "I'm Mexican—I like avocados," she told the crowd.

She wasn't so cool, calm and collected when Corden hit the button. Alba's arms swung up in fear and she was entirely startled. "I'm still nervous," she said after it was all over and she was walking out of the chamber and back to safety.

Soon, it was Mara's turn, who admitted outright that she was easily scared. While Corden tried to distract the other stars with questions, she wasn't falling for it. "No, no, no, no, no—I can't talk to you right now. I'm too scared," she told the host before he surprised her anyway with a tomato coming right for her face.

As the grand finale, Corden got behind the Plexiglas for the final round and proved he is the king of the game by not flinching an inch while the celebrities fired an orange at him.

"That's how you play Flinch!" he exclaimed.
