When Kate Middleton found her prince charming, Prince William found his dream girl.

More than five years after millions of people around the world watched the couple say "I Do," the pair's love and admiration for one another hasn't gone away.

In fact, many could argue that their bond has only strengthened partly thanks to the arrival of their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

While pop culture fans are used to seeing Hollywood couples experience ups and downs in the spotlight, this royal family has defied the odds and displayed love and support for one another all around the world.

In honor of Royals Week at E! News, we decided to remind fans—and prove to naysayers—that this isn't just your ordinary couple in love. Kate and William are soul mates and best friends.

1. Food for Thought: You know it's a close relationship when you can be completely honest about your partner's cooking skills. "William has to put up with my cooking most of the time," Kate once shared at a gala dinner. William replied, "It's the reason I'm so skinny!"

2. Absence Makes the Heart Fonder: Although the couple called it quits in 2007, time away ultimately proved to be helpful for the pair. "We both were very young…we were sort of both finding ourselves as such and being different characters and stuff," William shared with the U.K. Press Association in 2010. "It was very much trying to find our way and we were growing up, and so it was just sort of a bit of space and a bit of things like that and it worked out for the better."

3. Chatter Box: There's always one family member who loves to hold a conversation with anyone they meet. In this famous group, that person is Kate. "There's a real art to walkabouts. Everybody teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting," Kate admitted in the ITV documentary Our Queen at Ninety. "I still have to learn a little bit more, and to pick up a few more tips I suppose." At least William doesn't appear to mind one bit.

4. Family Unit: While some couples loathe spending time with their in-laws, William and Kate don't mind one bit. When the duchess stayed home for a holiday party last year, William sang Christmas carols with Carole Middleton and his sister-in-law Pippa Middleton. And yes," Jingle Bells" was on the playlist.

5. Game On: In the game of love, things can get a bit competitive. During a 2015 holiday charity event, the prince caught his wife getting a little flirty on the phone while trying to out-earn her husband. "Catherine, I think you can stop flirting with them now!" Prince William reportedly joked in front of the group.

6. Hair Care 101: We would never comment on Prince William's head of hair. But for Kate, she can have a little fun at the most surprising times. When the duchess saw a similarity between an alpaca's coat of hair and her husband's lessening locks, Kate couldn't stay quiet. "The Prince was interested in the alpaca and as I showed it to them, the Princess said he should put it on his head," farmer Lyn Crejan told reporters. "She said, 'You need it more than me,' and pointed to his head and he laughed."

7. Two Can Play That Game: Several months later, Prince William suggested that a trainee hairdresser style his wife's "nightmare hair." As some would like to say: Don't get mad, get even.

8. Family Matters: Blame it on the holiday season or those young smiles, but this crew is a picture-perfect family around the holidays. While December provides stress and chaos for so many people, these two handle it like a total pro.
