"It was a little open-ended."
Yeah, you can say that again. Gilmore Girls fans are stuffed with turkey AND nostalgia after A Year in the Life premiered on Friday, Nov. 25, and the four-episode revival ended with a MAJOR cliffhanger. (Warning, spoilers ahead!)
Those infamous final four words? They revealed that Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) is pregnant. Cue Lorelai's (Lauren Graham) jaw (and ours!) hitting the gazebo's floor. So who is the father? How will Lorelai really react? Can Rory handle being a single mother?
So many questions, but the biggest of all: will we actually see more Gilmore Girls episodes on Netflix after A Year in the Life, which fans had to wait nearly a decade for after the series' original run ended abruptly in 2007?
Star Lauren Graham seemed optimistic about Gilmore Girls' future when E! News caught up with her at the premiere. "You know the final four words, what do you think?!" she said when we asked if there will be more. Huzzah!
But let's temper that excitement a little bit, as Alexis Bledel then went on to tell us there are currently "no plans" for another trip to Stars Hollow.
"We're all just we're grateful we got a chance to do this," she said. "It really is about telling a good story for us. Just to keep doing more for the sake of it probably just wouldn't feel satisfying for anybody. We just want to make sure we're doing it for a really great reason."
As for our third Gilmore girl, Kelly Bishop, she isn't sure if Emily would've found long-term satisfaction in where she was at the end of the revival: living in a house on Nantucket, working at a whaling museum (?!). "That's the curious thing...would that have lasted? Would that have been satisfying? Would she be wanting more?" she said. "So I would like to do more then just to find out where she goes because it certainly took me places that I didn't expect."
Regardless if we get more episodes or not (But c'mon, Amy Sherman-Palladino, we NEED more!), Matt Czuchry, whose character Logan is most likely the father of Rory's baby, told us this ending works on its own.
"If this is the end, it's a great ending and if there's more, it'll be another great ride," he said.
