The Enchanted sequel can't come soon enough.
"I don't know when it's starting, but we definitely have had conversations," Amy Adams, who starred in the 2007 movie as Giselle, told me at the Governors Awards.
Adam Shankman is set to direct the follow-up, which will be called Disenchanted and will reportedly take place 10 years after the original movie ends.
I reminded Adams of the time a few years ago that she told me she would be up for a sequel. "If the script is right, I still stand by that," the Nocturnal Animals star said. "I trust that the team they're putting together is putting together something that makes it timely. I think it's a good time in our world for Disenchanted."
It sure is.

Adams smiled, "I think a little singing and dancing, a little laughing at ourselves is good."
Her Enchanted co-star James Marsden told me back in 2011, "I don't understand why they never did [a sequel]. It was a very successful movie."
He said, "At some point when the gray hairs start coming, you can't really play the quintessential animated prince anymore. Amy and I were like, 'If we're going to do it, we do it before we're 40.'" (For the record, Adams is 42 and Marsden is 43.)
Disney is said to be hoping to start filming Disenchanted next summer.
