Voight spoke to E! News at the premiere of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Thursday night and addressed his daughter and Brad Pitt's custody battle. "I appreciate everybody's concern and their prayers," he told us. "Hopefully things will work out."
Pitt attended his first red carpet this week since Jolie filed for divorce in September. He signed autographs and posed with his Allied co-star, Marion Cotillard, before entering the fan Q&A and gushing about how much his fans mean to him. "It's really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here," he explained before adding, "It's really nice to have all the support."
Earlier that night E! News learned that Pitt had been cleared of child abuse allegations by the Los Angeles Country Department of Children and Family Services. DCFS launched an investigation into the A-list star after an incident involving the actor and his eldest son Maddox on a private airplane back on September 14.
The DCFS found that Angelina's ex did not commit any child abuse during the incident. A spokesperson for Angelina released the following statement:
"The job of the DCFS is to make sure the children are in a safe and secure situation. As we said earlier this week, childcare professionals encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides that was in the best interest of the children. Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their 8-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal."
A source insisted, however, that, "There were no childcare professionals involved with last week's temporary voluntary agreement."
