Shakira Shares Videos of Studio Session With Maluma From the Making of "Chantaje"

We love to imagine what the songwriting process is like between two artists that put together a hit song. But now, thanks to Shakira we know exactly how she and Maluma created their chart-topping track. 

The 39-year-old shared the process that she and the 22-year-old singer took to even came up with certain lyrics for "Chantaje."

In one of the videos shared on the singer's Instagram account, they're both listening to the track and debating on a certain phrase in the chorus.

Maluma just hit his fourth No. 1 on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart with "Chantaje."

"I am so grateful to Shakira for having invited me to work with her in the studio--it has been an unforgettable experience--  and to now receive this number one for our song together is a great honor. Thanks as well to radio and the fans for your support," the singer said upon receiving the news.

The mother of two has shared a video each day of the song-making journey between the two. 

On Monday, Nov. 7, Shakira announced that she would be canceling her appearances at the Latin Grammys and American Music Awards.

"Due to personal matters, I won't be able to travel to Las Vegas & LA to attend the @LatinGRAMMYs or the @AMAs this year," she tweeted. "I will be accompanying @carlosvives in spirit @LatinGRAMMYs, celebrating this incredible year that we’ve shared together with #LaBicicleta."
