Before This Is Us, there was "Candy."

The year was 1999, and a then 15-year-old Mandy Moore had set her sights set on music superstardom. Moore got her start opening for fellow 2000s fixtures 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys, but it wasn't until her debut single hit airwaves that pop lovers put down their Walkman and asked, 'Who is this chick?!'

Now 17 years later, Moore's "Candy" music video is just as timeless, equally as fabulous and totally nostalgic.  And it just so happens to be National Candy Day, so what better way to celebrate than by saddling up to all your leftover Halloween treats, and reliving our favorite Mandy moments below:

First things first, each and every one of Mandy's looks in the video epitomizes iconic Y2K fashion. From the bubblegum pink lip gloss to the silky teal maxi skirt and the edgy updo straight out of your high school's homecoming dance, this spunky teenager had it all.

If Mandy's exposed bra straps (a major style do of the time) don't seal the deal, look no further than her posse's ensembles. Cargo pants, tube tops and bare midriffs, oh my!

Volkswagen Bugs were all the rage in 1999, and when Mandy revved up her epic lime green version, the jealousy was too real. Looking back we can't help but point out Mandy's admittedly negligent driving, though. Eyes on the road, girl!

Cue the Josh Hutcherson look-alike/skater boy that catches Mandy and her pals' eyes during their joy ride. Instant love connection.

Where do all great romances begin? The local diner, of course! As soon as the songstress flashed this look at her hunky co-star, you knew Mandy found her candy.

It wouldn't be an early 2000s pop music video without a finale dance scene! Mandy and her clique rocked that parking lot groove like nobody's business, and we may or may not still remember Mandy's signature sequence.

Who needs helmets when your new fling drives an electric blue Vespa?! Mandy and her guy rode off into the sunset and the rest, as they say, is history.
