So, it's true, Drake and Taylor Swift are having a "great time" together...

In the studio!

The king and queen of hearts-worn-on-sleeves have embarked on a musical collaboration, and in the wee hours this morning Drake shared a photo that took fans by storm—in both good and bad ways—of the two of them that confirmed...well, that they've got something in the works. Since they're facing away from the camera in the pic, it feels as though the rapper was also cheekily acknowledging the shroud of mystery that at first led people to speculate that he was dating Taylor, not wanting to totally burst bubbles but also not wanting to lead anybody astray.

And that's just such a Drake move, isn't it?

While hip-hop provides an organic edge to the Degrassi cutie turned rap superstar's musical output, Drake is also famously known as a uniquely sensitive artist in song. The 30-year-old is much more likely to be expounding on his feelings, the sorrows of lost love and having his world turned upside down than he is to tout his macho bona fides or venture too far outside his own personal world.

Gosh, who does that remind us of...?

Exactly.

Though an insider told us that the music he and Taylor have been working on together is "different" (no elaboration on if that means different for them, for one of them or for the world in general), it's since become apparent that they were meant to join forces—considering they've basically been putting out two variations of the same songs for years now anyway.

So many of their respective lyrics actually translate into each other's words, separated by gender narrative, cadence and pacing, but otherwise... remarkably similar.

Drake: Girl, you got me down, you got me stressed out

Taylor: And it rains in your bedroom / Everything is wrong / It rains when you're here and it rains when you're gone

Ugh, our "relationship" has me so bummed right now.

Drake: I want your hot love and emotion, endlesslyI can't get over you, You left your mark on me / I want your high love and emotion, endlessly / 'Cause you're a good girl and you know it / You act so different around me / 'Cause you're a good girl and you know it / I know exactly who you could be Just hold on we're going home

Taylor: You got that long hair, slicked back, white t-shirtAnd I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt / And when we go crashing down, we come back every time'Cause we never go out of styleWe never go out of style.

We're a couple of sexy people who are hot together but inevitably clash...but so long as you're in town and I'm in town... and if you maybe want to get serious... I'm down.

Drake: And I can't hear the critics / Talkin over the applause / Yeah I tried to tell em future let em know/ Sending haters all my love X and O/ I got a black box wear suggestions go / But I don't really give a f--k / It's probably best you know / My reality is brighter than your dreams are / I got your dream girl riding in your dream car yeah... / And the visual is stunning / I hope they document what I'm becoming / Congratulations

Taylor: But I keep cruising / Can't stop, won't stop grooving / It's like I got this music / In my mind / Saying, "It's gonna be alright"/ 'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play / And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate / Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake / I shake it off, I shake it off

Not to mention the other guy's dream girl riding in his dream car with Drake is the equivalent of the fella over there with the hella good hair.

Drake: Run your mouth, I'd rather listen to someone else / I gave your nickname to someone else / I know you're seein' someone that loves you / And I don't want you to see no one else... I miss the feeling of you missing me / But you say you're over and done with me... Now redemption's on your mind when you think about me

Taylor: It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you / Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine / I'd go back to December, turn around and make it all right / I go back to December all the time ... Maybe this is wishful thinking / Probably mindless dreaming / But if we loved again, I swear I'd love you right

Neither one was always on the receiving end of heartbreak. Sometimes they caused it too—and being the sensitive souls that they are, felt bad about it later.

Drake: I'm too good to you / I'm way too good to you / You take my love for granted / I just don't understand it / No, I'm too good to you

Taylor: But I took your matches / Before fire could catch me / So don't look now I'm shining like fireworks / Over your sad empty town

You don't deserve me...you know who you are.

Drake: I wanna know how much time you spent on them paragraphs / Where you're getting me / All that gray in our conversation history, you / Playin' mind games, when you sayin' things / Playin' mind games, we both doin' the same thing

Taylor: And I lived in your chess game, but you changed the rules every day / Wondering which version of you I might get on the phone tonight / Well I stopped picking up and this song is to let you know why

I don't think this is a sustainable situation.

Drake: But you can't just diss and come tell me sorry / You can't listen to me talk and go tell my story / Nah, it don't work like that when you love somebody

Taylor: I'm sick and tired of your attitude  / I'm feeling like I don't know you / You tell me that you love me then you cut me down

Enough with the mind games.

Drake: You're still the one that I adore / Ain't much out there to have feelings for

Taylor: He opens up my door and I get into his car / And he says you look beautiful tonight / And I feel perfectly fine

Sure, I'm seeing someone new, but...[shrug].

Drake: Yeah, and last night I think I lost my patience. Last night I got high as the expectations. Last night, I came to a realization

Taylor: You don't have to call, anymore

Look, they're finishing each other's sentences.

Drake: You hate it when I coat things all in sugar / You want to hear the real talk, well girl, who wouldn't?

Taylor: 'Cause we're young and we're reckless / We'll take this way too far / It'll leave you breathless / Or with a nasty scar

Well, if you want to get down to brass tacks...

Drake: I had to let go of us to show myself what I could do, and that just didn't sit right with you. And now you're trying to make me feel a way, on purpose. Now you're throwing it back in my face, on purpose. Now you're talking down on my name, on purpose. And you don't feel no way, you think I deserve it

Taylor: And it's taken me this long, baby, but I've figured you out / And you're thinkin' we'll be fine again but not this time around

You can't apologize your way out of this one. I'm done with your nonsense, done with you trying to keep me down, done with you.

Drake: You used to call me on my cell phone / late night when you need my love

Taylor: I stare at the phone/ He still hasn't called/ And then you feel so low/ You can't feel nothing at all / and you flashback to when he said forever and always

What the hell? You seemed so into it before!

Drake: Girl, you don't love me, you just say that s--t to get me

Taylor: We are never, ever, ever getting back together

I'm onto you.

Drake: And she live in a mindset that I could never move to / Until you find yourself, it's impossible to lose you / uh cause I never had you / Although I would be glad to

Taylor: A new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be / And now I see, now I see, now I see / He was long gone when he met me / and I realize the joke is on me

Whoops! Mistook all that affection for something more. I'll be going now... OK, now I'm going. For real this time.
