Where in the world is Divergent?

It was reported in July that Lionsgate was looking into possibly making the last film in the series for TV with the aim of launching a television show based on Veronica Roth's books.

At the time, it was also reported that Shailene Woodley and her co-stars would appear in the TV production, which would also include introducing new characters.

Miles Teller, who starred in the franchise as Peter, says he has yet to hear from the studio. "I have not talked to anyone," he told me last night at the premiere of his new real-life boxing drama Bleed For This (in theaters Nov. 18). "We haven't filmed one in like a year and a half...My phone's not ringing for it."

Shortly after the TV movie news broke, Woodley told me, "I honestly have no idea what's going on with Divergent. I know as much as you do."

In September, she said she's still interested if the fourth installment remained a movie.

"They haven't finalized any decisions, so it's actually a moot point to talk about it now, out of respect to Lionsgate and everyone involved," she said during an appearance on the Today show. "I'm not exactly sure where they stand so we are kind of all in a limbo game."

Lionsgate apparently decided to look to the small screen after the third Divergent film didn't live up to box office expectations.

The fourth film was originally scheduled to shoot this past summer with a release set for June 2017.
