Benedict Cumberbatch's first Saturday Night Live promo is here and it is straight up delightful.

In the below promo, Cumberbatch, who is hosting with musical guest Solange, meets Saturday Night Live, at last. It's that simple. "We meet at last," he says approaching the famous Studio 8H stage with swelling music. "Oh f—k."

Cumberbatch is promoting the latest Marvel movie, Doctor Strange, where he's playing the titular doctor who goes from practicing medicine to the mystical arts. Have no fear, the Oscar nominee is returning to the small screen for another go as Sherlock Holmes in Masterpiece's Sherlock.

Sherlock and Watson (Martin Freeman) return with new episodes on January 1, 2017. What a way to start the new year! This is the first new season in three years. Yes, three!

"Sherlock series four—here we go again! Whatever else we do, wherever we all go, all roads lead back to Baker Street, and it always feels like coming home," showrunner Steven Moffat said in a statement when production on season four commenced in April. "Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson and terror and tragedy are looming. This is the story we've been telling from the beginning and it's about to reach its climax."

But this could be the last Sherlock we get…for a while at least. Both Moffat and Cumberbatch have discussed the show's murky future, but were unwilling to put a nail in its coffin, officially.

"I don't know how long we can keep it going. I'm personally willing but I'm hardly the main draw," Moffat told The Telegraph. "I would be moderately surprised if this was the last time we ever made this show. But it absolutely could be."

Cumberbatch takes the SNL stage on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 11:30 on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
