When we first saw evidence that Shakira and Maluma were in the studio together, we had very high expectations for this possible collaboration, and these two did not disappoint.
Fellow Colombians released their track "Chantaje" on Friday, and it's all sorts of sexy and infectious. The song was written and produced by Shakira and Maluma with Kevin Jimenez, Chan "El Genio" and Kenai.
The video for "Chantaje" was recently filmed in Barcelona, Spain, with video director Juame De La Iguana. The new single follows Shakira's recent successful collaboration with Carlos Vives "La Bicicleta" which remains a global hit. The record-breaking song topped the charts in Colombia where it remained #1 for 18 consecutive weeks and in Spain where it remained #1 on the charts for 13 weeks.
The video for "La Bicicleta" was shot in Shakira and Carlos's hometowns of Barranquilla and Santa Marta and has over 350 million views on Vevo to date.
Shakira is currently back in the studio recording new music for her upcoming Spanish-language release. That album's premiere can't come soon enough.
