Just a day after dropping a trailer (and such a lovely trailer at that), Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is keeping the treats rolling with a mysterious new Instagram post. On the official Gilmore Girls Instagram the show posted the above picture, Paris Geller's nameplate on a door with the caption: "Face it. Her name was destined to be on a door. #GilmoreGirls#AYearintheLife."
This is all true. Paris Geller (Liza Weil) was destined for greatness. But what kind of greatness? What kind of door is it on? Well, Paris always intended to be a doctor and/or a lawyer. When we last saw her at the end of season seven she had decided to go to medical school. But, plans change.
In the trailer, Paris is seen at Chilton, her former high school. Could she now be headmistress? There's no MD or Esquire at the end of her name on that name plate. Yes, we're seriously diving deep here.
Weil, who currently stars on ABC's How to Get Away With Murder, recently told us she was a bit nervous returning to the world of Gilmore Girls.
"I was worried," Weil told E! News. "I was definitely worried because I had wrapped season two of Murder and I think, like, the next day or two days later, I was on set on Gilmore Girls."
"But I will say that Amy and Dan's writing, it just really does the trick for me. Paris is so alive in that writing and it's just very, very different from Bonnie," she said. "It was actually a very welcome sort of respite from Bonnie. It felt nice to be a little bit more broad and all of those Paris Geller-y things. And then I had a good cushion of time before going back to Bonnie, but I will say, yeah, it's [Amy-Sherman Palladino and Dan Palladino] and it's [Murder creator] Pete [Nowalk] and you read those scripts and it's all on the page. It certainly made it easier."
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres Friday, Nov. 25 on Netflix.
