Cropped or not, flared denim has risen.
It's no coincidence that all of your favorite new releases from denim brands have a bell-bottom. The style comes with a variety of benefits (the most coveted being their figure-flattering capabilities) and it's beloved by so many fashionable celebs—from Kendall Jenner to Kiernan Shipka. The denim trend has hit the mainstream again (it's first spike in popularity being in the '70s), so here are all the style tips you need in regards to them, as told by your favorite celebs.
Let's start with Kenny! The supermodel's long and lean black flares are giving you a taste of the classic fit. These you should wear just as you would any other pair of jean—but if the illusion of crazy-long legs is what you're going for, throw on your highest heels or platforms.
When it comes to wearing cropped flared jeans, take these three pages out of Emma Roberts' style book:
1. The perfect length for any cropped jean is right above the ankle.
2. When in doubt, wear a block-heeled shoe.
3. Tuck your shirt in to show off the figure-flattering high waist most styles have.

Now normally, all the distressing you'd want on your cropped flares are raw hems, but blogger Aimee Song is giving our theory a run for its money. The biggest tip to take from her is pair your "busy" pants with non-busy, solid-colored tops and shoes. That way, the look isn't competing with itself for attention!
A big denim trend right now is switching up your hemlines. Bella Hadid's flares have a little two-toned action going on (and we love it). It's what takes these potentially classic jeans and makes them unique and interesting. Moral of this story? Don't be afraid to play with your hems!

Embellishments are always a nice touch—Kiernan's cropped flares have the sweetest button details. Even a small statement like this deserves to be the focal point of your outfit, so follow the actress' lead and keep everything else very minimal (a plain white tee and gladiator sandals was a great choice). Planning to wear these at work? Ditch the flats and rock a classic pair of pumps.
