It's been 16 days since the tragic and untimely death of Miami Marlins' pitcher José Fernández

Once many learned about the boating accident that took his life, they rushed over to 24-year-old baseball player's Instagram. That's where fans' hearts sank as they learned that just a few days before, the athlete had shared the news that he was going to be a father for the first time. Immediately the story was even sadder than before, and now there was an unborn baby girl that would never get to meet her dad.

In the video, we see José with his pregnant girlfriend Maria Arias. He starts off by saying, "Yea, I'm in love, man. I love this thing and I love this thing." He speaks to the camera as he gives Arias a kiss on the cheek and she moves down the camera and he rubs her baby bump.

"I'm in love, man. It's hard to admit it," he says. "Tell me about it."

Fernández died early Sunday morning when his 32-foot fishing boat struck a jetty along Government Cut and Fisher Island in Miami Beach. We later learned that the two other victims who died onboard the tragic boat ride were his friends Emilio Jesus Macias, 27, and Eduardo Rivero, 25.

According to Miami's WSVN, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said they have received Fernández's toxicology report from the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner's Office on Monday. The FWC believes that this report will provide valuable information for its ongoing investigation.

The commission does not plan on releasing any of its findings until the investigation is complete.
