As the spooky holiday quickly approaches, kids across the country are brainstorming their creative costumes.
And instead of sticking to a Hollywood character or superhero, Ben let's his kids decide who they want to be once October 31 comes around.
"I leave it wide open for them," he shared with E! News' Will Marfuggi at the Hollywood premiere for The Accountant. "My son told me a friend of his asked who his favorite superhero was and he said his favorite superhero was Flash and he goes ‘What about Batman' and he goes ‘Batman's just my dad' so he's kind of over it."

What Ben won't be doing is making the costumes himself for his three kids with Jennifer Garner. Instead, he will leave that to the party stores who excel in a few memorable looks.
"I'm not going to stand here and pretend that I'm at the loom spinning costumes out of the wheel but I take them to the store where you buy costumes," he joked to E! News. "You know, they have highly flammable plastic outfits that you dress children in once a year and take them around stranger's houses."
In his latest big-screen project, Ben plays a math genius with more affinity for numbers than people. When he uncooks the books for a new client, the Treasury Department closes in on his questionable activities.
"I was surprised by how smart and intricate it was…the unconventional protagonist," Ben previously shared with E! News' Carissa Culiner when discussing what attracted him to the project. "It was a no-brainer…I just wanted to jump on board."
