Kim Kardashian has left her New York City apartment for the first time since arriving back to the United States following her terrifying Paris robbery.

E! News can confirm the 35-year-old reality star, Kanye West and their two children, North West and Saint West, left through the backdoor of the apartment they've been renting in TriBeCa and exited using a side street.

Before the family departed, an onlooker told us the couple's bodyguards packed up a black Escalade full of luggage early this morning. Kim's personal bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, was also seen entering the apartment.

A source tells us Kim and Kanye left in two trucks and will travel all day together today. We're also told security has been "amped up 1000 percent."

As for Kim's upcoming appearances, we learned she's "not sure" how much time she will take off, but it will probably be "about a month."

E! News previously reported Kim was gagged, bound and held at gunpoint after five masked men dressed as police officers gained entry into her Paris apartment at the No Address Hotel. They tied her up and put her in a bathtub before stealing more than $11 million worth of jewelry, credit cards and cell phones.

A friend had been staying with the reality star in a different part of the apartment at the time, and, fortunately, they were both able to escape after the men left

Kim immediately flew out to New York Monday morning where she reunited with Kanye and a barrage of security was hired to watch over their rented apartment. She's been staying there ever since.

Meanwhile, aside from the terrifying moment—during which she truly thought she was going to be killed—Kim has also had to deal with criticism from the public and people who think the whole thing was a publicity stunt.

"It's crazy to her that people, even for a second, think she is fabricating this story," a source close to the star expressed to E! News. "She feels like no one understands her and what she been through."

In fact, the insider noted that Kim plans to seek some emotional help when she's ready. "Kim is surrounded by her friends and family now. She is really upset and is going to speak to a therapist in deeper lengths about this."
