There's no penny spared when it comes to protecting the West family, especially in light of Sunday's horrific incident where Kim Kardashian was bound and gagged at gunpoint inside her Paris apartment.
And now that the E! star and Kanye West are dealing with the aftermath of the frightening ordeal, it goes without saying that security for the power couple will be undoubtedly ramped up for the foreseeable future.
"Nobody expected this to happen to them," an insider tells E! News. "Not even somebody super famous like Kim, so it wasn't a big deal to her that her security wasn't there [at the time of the break-in."
But that's all about to change…So what exactly will around-the-clock security cost Kim, Kanye and the rest of their family? Let's investigate.
One security source tells us that a guard can bill $70 to $80 an hour, and substantially more when they are required to travel.
Meanwhile, a separate source gives a wider range estimate of $75 to $125 an hour for armed security guards.
Once Kimye was reunited in New York City early Monday morning, upwards of 30 guards appeared to be manning their residence. The math on that, if the guards are paid top dollar, would round out to just under $100,000 for a 24-hour period.
Aaron Jackson, the President of Finest Execution Protection, tells E! News that "cost per hour varies on the client and the complexity of the assignment as well as the potential threat level."
He added, "Celebrities are charged more than, say, a hedge fund guy. That's a wealthy client and then there's a public figure. Kim is a very, very public figure. Also, there's now that added threat level. I would say she'd be charged around $150 an hour per security guard."
Estimated numbers aside, there's no price point too high to ensure safety.
