Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman are taking their relationship to the next level.
"Joel and I are getting an apartment together, so we went to see it with the measuring tape," Kotb revealed on The Hoda Show Monday, which airs exclusively on SiriusXM Today Show Radio channel 108 Mondays and Wednesdays at 2 p.m. ET. "It's a little weird to be in your 50s and we're like 'Hey, we're moving in!' It's like you're kids. It's so weird. I was afraid to tell my own mother that I was moving in with my boyfriend. I was afraid. I don't know," the Today host said. "I know it sounds weird—I've been married. It's like, 'Whatever!' But it's weird. It's a little odd."
Odd or not, Kotb also said she's "excited" to live with Schiffman, particularly after they "looked at the place and had the tape measure and were picturing us together—like in the apartment." Of course, cohabitating could test the boundaries of their relationship. One of the reasons they work well together is that they "don't have a lot of conflicts, because we're not together 24/7."
"It's been so long since I've lived with someone. I'm a little concerned with me—not him. Like how I am, as a human," Kotb, 52, confessed. "You know, it's not going to be easy for poor Joel."
In January, Kotb told E! News' Zuri Hall she wasn't "sure" whether she'd ever get remarried. "I've gone down that road once, so I would've normally said definitely not," said Kotb, who divorced Burzis Kanga in 2007. "So the fact that I'm saying I don't know is saying something."
If Schiffman were to ever propose, he should keep it casual. "I don't like bells and whistles and planes flying overhead and flash mobs," Kotb revealed to E! News in April. "There are certain things in life that are intimate and between two people. I like that. I like it more low-key."
