The National Rifle Association (NRA) has something to say about Kim Kardashian West's Parisian robbery.

While celebrities have turned to social media to defend the E! reality star, who was gagged, bound and held at gun point while she was robbed of all her jewelry, the gun organization used the scary incident as a way to promote its views. "Wait, criminals held @KimKardashian at gunpoint in Paris? How is that possible? Does anyone know if they passed a background check first?" the NRA tweeted Monday.

The pro-gun organization, which often comes under political fire, followed up its initial tweet with another sarcastic response, seemingly trolling the reality star. "It's shocking that these criminals did not subject themselves to Paris' strict #guncontrol laws before committing this awful crime."

When one user noted that women and mothers wants "stronger gun laws" and called out the NRA for not wanting to close loopholes in background checks, the organization responded, "Stronger gun laws… like the ones they have in Paris? #askingforafriend."

While in France for Paris Fashion Week, the 35-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star "was held up at gunpoint...by two armed masked men dressed as police officers" as she stayed in the apartment husband Kanye West owns in Paris, her rep told E! News Sunday.

Kim was "badly shaken but physically unharmed," the rep added.

E! News also learned that five men wearing ski masks and police jackets were involved in the robbery around 3 a.m. local time. Two men entered her room, bound her hands and feet with tape, gagged her and put her in the bathtub before stealing all her jewelry.

The French Interior Ministry confirmed the men first threatened the concierge with a weapon, handcuffed him and forced him to open Kanye's private apartment. Two of the men gained entry to her room and stole one of Kim's rings, worth an estimated $4.49 million, as well as a jewelry box, worth an estimated $5.6 million.

Kim jumped on a private plane back to New York shortly after talking to French police. Kanye was seen meeting his wife as soon as her car arrived.

"All of us at E! are incredibly thankful that Kim Kardashian West is safe, and we send her and her family our love and support. Keeping Up with the Kardashians was not filming at the time of the robbery," E! said in a statement. "Our focus right now is entirely on Kim's well-being."
