Who says you can't go home again? Not Paget Brewster it seems. The actress has rejoined Criminal Minds as a series regular, E! News has confirmed. Brewster's return to the CBS drama comes on the heels of Thomas Gibson's dismissal from the series after an altercation on set.

Brewster was already slated to return as Emily Prentiss with a multi-episode guest arc, but she'll no be a series regular. This is the first time she's been a series regular on the show since season seven. She previously returned in season nine and again in season 11 as part of Shemar Moore's exit storyline.

"We're all so excited to have Paget with us full time," Erica Messer told THR in a statement. "The BAU family has definitely missed her, on screen and off. Having her back on set has been great, it's like she never left."

Adam Rodriguez has also been added to the cast for the upcoming season 12. He'll play Luke Alvez when the series returns on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. on CBS. The cast also includes Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness and Aisha Tyler. The Talk's Tyler previously appeared as a recurring guest star.

The series is also reportedly looking for two new characters to replace Gibson on the series. He was let go after a suspension in July after getting in a dispute with a writer over creative differences.

"Thomas Gibson has been dismissed from Criminal Minds," ABC Studios and CBS Studios said in a statement when Gibson's exit was announced. "Creative details for how the character's exit will be addressed in the show will be announced at a later date."
