The son of former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder early Monday, police said.

The arrest took place hours after the shooting, following a police chase in Santa Ana. Waring, 27, is alleged to have shot a 35-year-old man in the lower torso, according to police. Waring and a San Juan Capistrano resident were also both arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, hit and run and felony evading police. Waring's bail was set at $1 million.

According to police, the shooting was a result of a disagreement, but authorities haven't determined what it was about. Police said Waring fled the scene in a stolen 2011 BMW X3 SUV, which an Orange County Sheriff's Department helicopter spotted in Santa Ana eight hours later.

During the chase, the SUV crashed and Waring tried to run away, choosing to hide out in a store. "After a brief standoff, he surrendered without further incident to the Santa Ana police," Costa Mesa police said in a news release.

This isn't the first time Waring has been arrested, according to the Los Angeles Times. Waring recently pleaded not guilty to felony drug and forgery charges in May, which included possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Prior to that, in 2008, Waring pleaded guilty to three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and six misdemeanors related to drug use or possession.

Peterson appeared on Bravo's hit reality series from 2006 to 2008.
