Wrestler Jerry Lawler, aka "The King," was arrested early Friday morning after an argument with his fiancée, Lauryn McBride.

E! News can confirm both the Memphis-native WWE star and McBride were taken into custody by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and are currently facing domestic assault charges.

WWE released a statement, saying, "WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest."

According to the police report that we obtained, McBride, 27, claims Lawler, 66, struck her in the head and pushed her against a stove. Lawler, on the other hand, is saying McBride scratched him in the face, threw a candle at him and kicked him in the groin.

McBride also alleged that Lawler got an unloaded pistol, put it on the kitchen counter and told her to kill herself.

This is not the wrestler's first run-in with the law. In 1999 he was reportedly arrested for throwing a ticket in a police officer's face and subsequently running over his foot.

Lawler is perhaps best known for faux-feuding with comedian Andy Kaufman, whom he wrestled in 1982. The two made headlines when Lawler slapped the funnyman in the face in an episode of Late Night With David Letterman, a bit that turned out to be staged as part of a promo blitz for their upcoming match. In fact, the two were really good friends.

Lawyer began his color commentary stint in 1998 before taking over full-time in 2001.
