It's going to be all hands on deck to save Meredith's life when Grey's Anatomy returns this week. Well, almost all hands.

In this sneak peek of the aftermath of Mer's (Ellen Pompeo) chilling attack at the hands of a patient in the upcoming midseason premiere, we get our first glimpse of the doctors of Grey-Sloan Memorial as they jump into action to save the life of one of their own. After she's found by Penny (Samantha Sloyan)—you know, Derek's death doctor—nearly everyone in her life comes to Meredith's aid. We say nearly everyone because there's one doc in particular whom the others decide against notifying.

To find out who, you're going to have to press play on that video above.

The Denzel Washington-directed episode promises to be a brutal one, but star Jason George has some words of hope for fans worried they might not make it through the hour. "I will say you are strong enough to get through this, we will all get through this," he told E! News at Savannah College of Art and Design's fourth annual aTVfest over the weekend. "It's an intense hour of television. It's a great hour of television you are not going to want to miss. And at the end of the day, as Grey's often does, Shonda [Rhimes] takes you further in the drama than you think you can go because she buys it with pathos. You have inspiring moments, you have moments of love, you have moments of comedy that earn the ability to go so deep and into such a dangerous place. It's part of the brilliance of her writing."

The attack will have an effect on more than just Meredith, Giacomo Gianniotti revealed, adding that the march of time in the episode will take its toll on everyone. "Usually an episode is covering a day or two at most, we're seeing weeks and months go by, and different stages of her recovery," he said. "So you really get to see a lot of passage of time and the changing of a lot of relationships throughout that time while waiting for Meredith to heal."

Grey's Anatomy returns Thursday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
