It's a family affair on Law & Order: SVU. In the above exclusive deleted scene, the squad assembles at the hospital to take Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and her new daughter, Jesse (played by her real-life son, Ludo), home after the complicated birth.

You may recall SVU signed off for the holidays with a cliffhanger featuring Rollins and her unborn baby in possible danger in the hospital. So, what happened and why is Rollins so anxious to get out of the hospital?

"Amanda, hold on," Benson says in the clip. "You had a placental abruption, right? You went into shock. You almost died."

When has that ever stopped Rollins? Finn (Ice-T), Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Carisi (Peter Scanavino) take care of their own.

In "Catfishing Teacher," a high school student plans a hookup with his female teacher, but things take a far more sinister turn. Hey, it's SVU after all. Andy Karl, Michael Gaston, Robert Sean Leonard, Kelli Barrett, Jordan Gelber and Jeanine Pirro guest star in the episode written by Kevin Fox and directed by Michael Slovis.

SVU returns tonight, Jan. 6, at 9 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
