Marty Deeks: murderer? That's the charge the LAPD detective must fight in Monday's episode of NCIS: Los Angeles, following his arrest in a bombshell of a cliffhanger two weeks ago. The team is scrambling to clear their friend and colleague's name after he was taken into custody for a very serious crime—the murder of his former partner—and E! News has an exclusive sneak peek at Deeks' interrogation.

In the scene, a handcuffed Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) sips coffee as he denies having a hand in Boyle's death. Naturally he does it with some trademark Deeks snark. "I'm so confused by this. Isn't it your department's job to find the killer?"

When E! News spoke to Olsen about his character's huge dilemma a few weeks ago, he said that Deeks' involvement in the case might be confusing. "We don't know what his role in any of this was. We know there are events that have taken place," Olsen said. "Is he the catalyst for that or is he a victim of circumstances?"

Because the events happened so long ago, it might be harder to clear his name. Added Olsen, "The first instinct he has is this is a witch hunt, and whatever role Deeks played in this is a different role than whatever it is that they're trying to pin on him. There are so many clouded moments in the events that it's hard to define the character by what he did or did not do."
