The One Very Upsetting Fact You Might Have Missed in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Trailer

If this is really how a certain hero functions, then we really are doomed

Did you catch that really upsetting moment in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer? It basically confirms that the world is effed if we have to rely on these guys to make sure the planet doesn't get destroyed. Watch the trailer above and see if you know what we're talking about. Hint: it happens within the first 20 seconds.

Did you see it? If not, let us break it down for you. It actually happens in the very first moments of the trailer.

Clark Kent, aka Superman in Spectacles, is covering a red carpet event. A really sweet ride pulls up, and the press goes crazy. Clark looks at who is arriving and asks a nearby photog:

"Who is that?"

What?

WHAT?

Clark Kent, a reporter for a major outlet in a neighboring city, doesn't know who Bruce Wayne is? The richest, most powerful man in Gotham, the city right across the bay from Metropolis? That's kind of like someone in Silicon Valley not knowing who Mark Zuckerberg is or something. Or being on the Oscars red carpet and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie rolling up and Ryan Seacrest saying "Who are they?!"

Bruce Wayne is probably on the tip sheet, too. Do you even know who is coming to this event? Do your research, man!

You have ONE job, Clark! Well, two, if you count saving the planet.

In case you want a quick GIF recap of that whole situation (a GIF-cap, if you will), here you go. This is all you need to know:

Annnnnd scene!

This is who we're depending on to save us from Lex Luthor? The evil genius with a chic, on-trend bob cut? We know Clark relatively new to this place but, c'mon! If you haven't figured out the fact that Bruce Wayne is a big deal in the time you've been in Metropolis, then what else have you missed? Is there a comet headed toward earth we don't know about?

Yeah, we know he's strong and fast and brave and obviously we're just kidding around, but we couldn't help but cringe at Superman's introduction in this trailer. But the rest of the trailer is really badass so we're not too mad about it. We just hope Clark is a better world-saver than reporter.
