For the first time since its premiere in 2009, The Vampire Diaries is getting a new time slot.

The CW series has been a mainstay on Thursday nights, but with the network's just announced winter line-up, that's no more. The series, and its companion The Originals, will both take up residence on Friday nights beginning January 29 at 8 and 9 p.m., respectively.

Replacing them on Thursdays will be the highly anticipated Arrow/The Flash spin-off DC's Legends of Tomorrow and season three of The 100, taking the night from supernatural to superhero. Both series take over Thursdays on January 21, again at 8 and 9 p.m., respectively.

E! News has also confirmed that critical darling, though ratings deprived, series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and iZombie have both earned additional episode orders. The satirical musical comedy Crazy Ex has had five more episodes ordered, bringing its season one total to 18, while iZombie was awarded an additional six, making season two a total of 19 episodes.

The remainder of the network's schedule will remain as-is, with Reign signing off with a winter finale on Friday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. The series will return at later in the season, date and time to be announced.
