Carrie Underwood is bringing her Calia fitness line to what's arguably fashion's most important spectator sport, and we're pretty psyched to see her chic athleticwear in the NYFW mix. The singer will present her collection at The HQ, a custom curated pop-up shop of sorts (attendees will be able to shop the line right then and there) that will host a slew fashion week events in starting Sept. 10.
"I've been a spectator at Fashion Week a few times...but this is the first time I'll be involved," she told WWD. "I sit in the audience and say, ‘Oh, I love that,' but then realize, ‘Oh, I have to wait.' But with this, people can see what we're working on right now and buy it immediately. I love that and I hope they will, too."
Carrie's Calia debut will be in the midst of one of the most star-studded fashion weeks yet: Besides Lauren Conrad, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen will put forth another collection for The Row, while Victoria Beckham will continue showing for her namesake line. Internet celebrity The Fat Jew will present an inaugural runway show featuring clothing catered to the dad bod physique.
So while it's always pertinent to keep your eyes peeled to the front row, it seems that the designers walking on stage are this year's real stars.
