After hackers revealed an Ashley Madison account linked to Hunter Biden's email address, Vice President Joe Biden's son is denying he has ever used the adultery website.
The married father of three released a statement saying, "I am certain that the account in question is not mine. This account was clearly set up by someone else without my knowledge, and I first learned about the account in question from the media."
Hunter believes someone set up the account using an old email address in order to discredit him.
"In fact, I no longer use the email address linked to this account as I became aware that this email account may have been compromised," Hunter continues. "This is unfortunately not the first time that someone has used my name and identity to try to discredit me."
Breitbart News first reported Biden's account on Monday, saying it was last used in June 2014 and paid for by a credit card with the name Robert Biden (Hunter's full name is Robert Hunter Biden). However, the VP's son claims it was an easy setup.
"From my understanding through press accounts, it is very easy to set up an account without someone's knowledge as there is no requirement that an email address be verified," Hunter explains. "I am certain that is what happened in this case."
Meanwhile, Real Housewives of New York star Kristen Taekman's husband was also one of the many people identified as a user on the controversial website.
While sources close to the couple say the incident could be the end of their marriage, Josh Taekman released a statement Monday apologizing for his actions and saying he and Kristen "look forward to moving past this" and getting on with their lives.
