Country singer Kacey Musgraves took to Instagram on Aug. 17 with a sneak peak at her new lavender-hued hair, which may have come as a surprise to fans who are used to her back-grazing brunette locks. And this might be Kacey's boldest hair move (or maybe, well, a hair less bold) since her teased, sky-high 'do from the 2014 CMA Awards, which gave us (and the rest of the Internet) Priscilla Presley vibes.
The Grammy Award winner recovered from that hair mishap however, and has since been spotted with simpler (and flatter, we might say) locks on the red carpet. But guess it was time for a change, and since mermaid hair is big right now (just ask Hilary Duff, Kylie Jenner, Britney Spears, Rita Ora and the many, many other celebs who have gone for lite-bright locks lately), why not?
Kacey's new lilac locks didn't come out of the blue—the singer posted a unicorn-esque snap to Instagram on Aug. 15, foreshadowing her own soon-to-be-pastel locks. Animal inspo, anyone?
