Gucci, Moschino, Prada and more—nope, we're not name-dropping the lineup at Milan Fashion Week, we're talking designers costuming Madonna's upcoming Rebel Heart World Tour.
Madge has recruited a very A-list team to outfit her latest concert series, with Jeremy Scott (of Moschino), Alexander Wang, Fausto Puglisi, Miuccia Prada, Alessandro Michele (of Gucci) among many designer heavyweights set to offer eye-catching custom designs for the singer to sport, as WWD reported. And these designers, as we know, rank among Madonna's famous friends and fans—Scott outfitted the singer for the 2015 Met Gala, while Wang made an appearance in her star-studded "Bitch I'm Madonna" music video.
Madonna's accustomed to performing in luxe designer duds of course: In February, the Giorgio Armani get-up she donned during her 2015 Brit Awards performance made headlines when, well, the singer took a backward plunge after a cape-removal mishap.
"Madonna, as we know, is very difficult," Armani said after the on-stage tumble. "This cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn't able to open it with her hands. That's all there is to it." (What this really tells us, though, is that she has exacting ideas for her concert looks, and we wouldn't expect anything less).
The 56-year-old pop icon begins her world tour in Montreal on Sept. 9, and we can't wait to see what these designers come up with. If the looks are anything as mercurial as the Material Girl herself, we're in for a sartorial surprise.
