Contantine fans, rejoice!

Although NBC canceled the DC Comics supernatural series back in May, this isn't the end for the trench coat wearing, demon hunting John Constantine (Matt Ryan). This may not be the news you've been hoping for, but it's definitely better than nothing.

E! News has learned that Ryan will guest star in an upcoming episode of the CW's Arrow, reprising his role from the DC Comics property Hellblazer. He is set to appear in episode 5, "Haunted," in season four, and as for how John will fit in with the world of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow, "he will provide critical support to Oliver when arrows aren't enough."

And CW boss Mark Pedowitz tells E! News that "a character will be resurrected" in the episode. Oooh!

"The series is no longer on the air and luckily one of our parent companies, Warner Brothers, was the production company for Constantine," Pedowitz said during the 2015 Summer TCA press tour. "We worked with them and it's a great one-shot episode."

"We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow," showrunner Marc Guggenheim says. "Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired. The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to Arrow and the CW's DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series."

Fans have been craving a Constantine/Arrow crossover ever since the new series was canceled this spring. Immediately following the cancelation, Amell tweeted that he would appear on Constantine if it was saved by another network. While that obviously didn't happen, we'll totally take a John Constantine cameo on Arrow!

Arrow returns this fall on the CW.
