Most of us know that feeling when you sneak a peek at your windshield and see a paper on there. It's something between paranoia, regret and pure frustration.

That was probably the initial reaction felt by one mother who had spent a few days in the hospital with her nine-week-old son, and went to find a parking ticket on her car when they were finally discharged.

However, because there actually are some good people still out there, she was greeted by one especially sweet surprise when she took a closer look.

"Over the past few days I have been in hospital with my 9 week old son. We were discharged today and as I walked to my car I noticed that I had a parking ticket. After those days in hospital, a parking ticket was one more thing that I didn't need," she wrote on Facebook.

"Well to my surprise, when I opened the envelope there was a note from a lovely lady named Laura (attached). I hope that Laura sees this and knows how much I appreciate her support. Thank you so much."

The message on the attached post-it note said: "Hi there, I saw your car had a parking ticket on it, I'm sure whatever you are going through at the hospital is tough enough so I have paid for you."

You guys, Laura paid the parking ticket for a complete stranger! Why, you ask? Because sometimes it's nice to be nice and do something generous for someone else.

Faith in humanity restored.
