Ed Sheeran is stepping in to fill in for Justin Bieber after he canceled a headlining gig at the 2015 Fusion Festival in England.

Bieber, 21, had earlier this week apologized to his fans, or Beliebers, and blamed the cancellation of the show on "an unforeseen issue." Festival organizers announced on Thursday that Sheeran would perform in his place.

"I know I said Wembley was my last UK show of this tour but my mate had a cancellation on his festival so I'm filling in last minute," Sheeran tweeted.

"Thanks buddy," Bieber replied. "I owe u one. UK there is no one better to step up. I will see u all soon. Until then enjoy Ed. No one better :)"

The festival benefits the Prince's Trust. Bieber had said earlier this week that he look forward to "the opportunity to give my UK beliebers a great show in the near future" and hopes to honor his commitment to the charity.

"Back to the studio," he added. "Need to finish this album. Might have a name."

The singer is working on the follow-up to his 2012 studio album Believe and has been teasing his new single, "What Do You Mean?" which is set for release on the same day as his canceled headlining gig at the Fusion Festival.
